Great news! Misfits Market customers in select areas (check your account for details) can leave select packaging out for our drivers to pick up for reuse or recycling when they deliver your order. Misfits Market is the only nationwide online grocer that collects packaging for free. Just one more way you can grocery shop with the planet in mind.
Simply leave your clean gel packs, egg carton liners, and silver insulated liners where we normally drop off your deliveries and we'll collect them on your delivery day.
Clean off your used Misfits Market silver insulated liner(s), gel pack(s), and egg carton liner(s).
The night before your delivery, place them where our drivers normally leave your Misfits Market box (easily edit the Delivery Instructions on your Account Details page to include important info!). Gel packs must be free of tears or leaks.
When we drop off your order, we’ll pick up your silver insulated liners, egg carton liners and gel packs (10 items max).
No need to weigh your trash bag down—we'll collect your gel packs and work with local partners to sanitize and reuse them.
If they're leaking, or you prefer to recycle your gel packs at home, please drain them completely and drop them in the recycling bin or at a flexible film recycling drop-off location.
Note: If you see “Drain Safe” on your gel pack, the gel is safe to go down your drain. Otherwise pour the contents into your trash can.
♶ LDPE plastic #4 with post-industrial recycled material
We'll recycle those puffy egg carton liners that keep your eggs from breaking in transit. You can also recycle these as polyethylene film or drop them at a flexible film recycling drop off location.
♶ LDPE plastic #4 with 30%+ post-industrial recycled material
Those silver liners keeping your food cold? We recycle them too. If you'd prefer to keep them, they make great padded mailers for packages and excellent flexible coolers for road trips.
100% recycled fiber box
Your box can be broken down and recycled in any curbside bin.
Glass jars and bottles
Clean your glass jars and bottles before handing them off so they can be recycled indefinitely.
Aluminum cans
Rinse your cans prior to handing them off to a recycler to give them another life (and another, and another…).
♴ HDPE Plastics
Aka #2 plastics, these are highly recyclable via curbside recycling programs. Check with your recycling hauler to learn how to recycle them.
♳ PET Plastics
Also referred to as #1 plastics, these are some of the most recyclable plastics. Check with your recycling hauler to learn how to recycle them.
The best place to gather packaging is in the lobby or at a front desk (let us know exactly where in the Delivery Instructions on your Account Details page), the night before your next delivery. Make sure your building knows it isn’t trash.
